I really like this scenario. It’s super simple and after your initial $2 investment you just spend $.18 or $,.20 each time.  In this scenario you’d spend $2.38 out of pocket (OOP) before tax and end up with $5 in Register Rewards, so Walgreens would be paying YOU $2.62 to take home $35.86 in merchandise!
